Managing stress and incorporating a happy healthy lifestyle-Unit 3 post

I cannot believe that Christmas 2010 has came and went. The time is flying by and I have s many good intentions that I plan on accomplishing. Tis the season to remember proportions. I am the one that needs this reminder. I keep telling myself that the food will not taste any better eaten in large quanties. My strategy is to chew slowly and savor the flavor. Another advantage of this is that I won't be regretting all the exta food I would have eaten. Always have a glass of water sitting next to me helps me keep my habitual eating habits in check as well. I am working on getting myself back into a normal routine so all this stress is kept to a minimum. I hope everyone had a blessed and fabulous Christmas!

  1. Hey Julia,

I wish I had your will power but sometimes it is necessary to just shove it all in my mouth and it does taste great no matter what the quantity!
A normal routine?? What is that? Since I started school, normal is anything but:)
I, unfortunately, have to keep track of my sodium content - only 1500 mg/day. Bummer but it helps maintain a bit of a diet. However, sometimes, it just gets the best of me and I have to have that pickle (700 mg/slice)or that cheese - luv cheese - 2 slices - forget it!
And a sub?? Too much to bother counting! It's everywhere even if you don't cook with it or add it to your food - arggggg.
About the water - remember the salt and water goes together - the more salt, the more water, the more retention.
Here's a true story for you - I knew a doctor's wife who, when told one should have 8 glasses of water/day, drank them all at once and passed out!
    DUH!

  2. I hope you were successful in your monitoring of your food intake. It is hard to do during Christmas.
